THE TRUTH ABOUT SHIFTING YOUR REALITY. IT’S NOT AN “EITHOR/OR”, IT’S AN “AND”.

What I learned after working with hundreds of clients and studying transformation for decades.

You’ve watched the YouTube videos, grabbed the latest book on manifestation and purchased a new leather-bound journal soon to be filled with your dreams and wishes. The candle is lit, and you’ve got the binaural beats in the background. You’ve decided to act out this day as if you already got the 6-figure contract and sit in a swanky hotel lobby. I just need to do this every day, and my life will magically change, right? Well, no. I mean, it might, but it’s kind of like trying to hike up a hill with a rope tied around your waste and someone pulling you down. You might go up a few feet, but you’ll get discouraged and tired and will most likely give up. That “someone” is your subconscious mind.

Stay with me.

It's not that your subconscious wants you to fail, or make life difficult, it’s just doing its job based on how it was programmed. This is the “and”. Lasting transformation and perceivable shifts in your reality require both the conscious tangible actions to embody that energy now AND the subconscious reprogramming to have your outer world reflect what’s playing out on the inside. In other words, your energetic frequency or vibrational signature needs to match what you are in the process of becoming.

Let’s dive a bit deeper…

In the world of self-help and transformational healing there are different perspectives and approaches available depending on where someone is on their evolutionary path. For some talk psychotherapy is what they need to have someone listen to their story, provide feedback and validate their emotions and trauma. Most likely they will feel short-term relief or get comfortable with having someone listen to you because you are paying them. What internal shifts are actually taking place? Not much. The reason is you are just communicating with the conscious mind which is filtered through subconscious programming. You get to feel better in the moment but what happens when you are out in the real world, and you are in a similar situation? Same trigger, same behavior.

Others who desire to delve deeper in their patterns and resistance may seek tools and techniques to give them clarity and help them stay focused. They are on the “fake it till you make it” train, so they have their vision boards, their subliminal tones on repeat all day long and their mind movies as their screen saver. Wonderful! They are a great way to keep your vision top of mind and get you in the excitement of what and how your life will be. But it doesn’t end there. Here’s why so many feel discouraged, disappointed and frustrated that they’ve done something wrong when the Porsche or perfect relationship doesn’t show up. Your subconscious mind has other plans as the gatekeeper of your input filter. What do I mean by this?

The brain has a mechanism called the Reticular Activating System (RAS for short) which filters what information gets noticed by the subconscious and what does not. When you give your attention and focus on something the RAS will allow it through. Since the subconscious mind can process over 2 million bits of information per second, only relevant information based on what it’s been programmed to look for, will be able to be perceived by the conscious mind. How do you change the filter? With consistent conscious focus (journaling, mind movies or vision boards and mental embodiment) along with imprinting new beliefs into your subconscious mind and interrupting triggered pattern loops.

How can you do this? Here’s a wonderful exercise to help you break out of a cycle that just won’t quit.

Step 1. Write out what your pattern is in this area of your life. It might look something like: I never seem to have enough money no matter how much I make. It seems to come in and goes out just as quickly. I get money from my job and then I feel like I deserve to “treat” myself because I work so hard. I order some things online, meet friends for dinner and book a spa day. Next thing I know I realize I have $50 until I get paid again next week. This happens over and over sometimes with different scenarios but same result.

Step 2. Inquire about where this pattern might have come from. She reflected on her experience growing up with parents who didn’t have money and weren’t comfortable talking about it. She didn’t have a relationship with money and regarded it as a “necessary evil” so that subconsciously she was sending out the message that having money was bad. Her subconscious having been programmed that money was “bad” did exactly what it was told and got rid of it as soon as possible.

Step 3. Ask yourself what you would need to give up order to shift this pattern. When she looked at what she would need to give up to break this pattern, she realized she needed to first shift her relationship with money so that she respected it, was grateful for what she had and needed to review what benefit she was getting by spending it. Was there a secondary gain she was getting by making sure she never had enough money? Upon exploration of that she came to realize that she never felt deserving of money and that being in lack perpetuated that belief. She would also need to be more conscious of her spending and make sure that it was not filling some other instant gratification that she would later regret. When you can inquire in the moment in presents itself (do I really need this purchase I am about to make?) you can make better decisions and make an easier shift out of old behaviors and patterns.

Step 4. What behaviors/actions would you add? She concluded that to break this pattern she would need to track her spending and see where the money was going, set a budget so she knew exactly how much money she had to “treat” herself and how much to save. She would find other ways to feel abundant rather than from materials items (appreciate how many friends she has, her dog who gives her unconditional love, a job she loves, etc.)

So, what happens if you just do the subconscious energy work? I see this all the time with clients. They book sessions with me (usually after trying everything else) and think that because we’ve done subconscious transformation that they can sit back and wait for the shifts in their life to show up, without doing anything. They are looking for signs that things have changed and when they haven’t, they think it “didn’t work for them”. That’s not to say that after a session or two your stress triggers aren’t dissolved or that you won’t find it easier to take action without hesitation, as that does happen. But real lasting changes happen when you are ready to step into this alternative version of you and all that it entails.

Doing the subconscious work and living your life from this new vantage point before the evidence of it shows up. You will then experience seamless shifts to the point that you might ask yourself “who am I” when your nervous system is no longer out of whack from a memory or similar experience from your past that used to cause your heart to race or a ripple of fear to run through your body.

That’s just the beginning. Once you are committed to the journey into the subconscious, the insights you get are not only life-changing but can connect dots you never imagined. We can discover inherited trapped emotions from trauma your ancestors may have experienced that is stored in your DNA, secondary gains you may be receiving by NOT changing this pattern or belief and find the underlying root cause of many ailments, triggers or unhealthy patterns.

The journey to your highest timelines begins with a desire to change your life. Once the commitment is made, all that is required is the discipline to walk into that life now and release all that is not an energetic match to it.
